Subject Fire Truck
In Reference to your question, "What if the Log cabin catches fire."
In reality it would probably burn to the ground, by the time we acknowledge the fire and
responded.
Please note, there is no central alarm system connected to log cabin, lodge or ranch central, only
the main house
It would not be until someone saw the smoke that the alarm would be raised.
Following the procedure layout below the water truck would be deployed to contain fire, with the
foam trailer and back packs following
Fire procedure is
I. Water truck is always full.
2. Call 911
3. Someone at gates to manually open gates and direct fire personnel from lire department
to fire location, that's 1 person
4. 5000 gallon water truck deployed to location, that's 2 people
5. Truck, foam trailer and back packs deployed, that's 3 people
The above procedure was confirmed by the Fire Chief of the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department.
Notes
It is estimated, at best it would take 30 to 45 mins for Stanley volunteer fire department to
respond .
Water truck would help supply fire department once they arrived
It takes 45 mins to resupply the water truck under present water distribution system
In irrigation season, we probably would not have enough water to resupply water or fight any
sizable fire.
At best it would take Ranch personnel 20mins to mobilize.
If the fire was in the Main House, the Water truck would be deployed first either to fight the fire
or replenish fire retention tanks.
Fire Truck repairs
Paul from Hal Burns was not comfortable providing a firm estimate for pulling the head on the
fire truck
Fire Truck was built in 1961, the engine was built in the early 1950's
He has no shop manuals, head and exhaust gaskets will probably, have to be custom made?, they
arc unsure at this time that pistons and valves have not been damaged.
If they get the motor operating, the pumps for fire fighting that will need to be tested
If you still wishes to proceed, then it will be on a time and material basis.
I would recommend a not to excced $5000.00 to start with.
Or do wish to wait until you are sight to review
