Hi Jeffrey,
Wanted to discuss renewing my contract for 2017. I'm trying to plan my financials to a certain degree for the next year
before this tax year closes.
Having a regular source of income with loose requirements has been very useful for me to be able to apportion my time into
deep thought in the space without worrying about immediate returns. But it would also be good, perhaps, to discuss if I'm
meeting your expectations, and what topics you're interested in through 20171if you'd want to see more outputs from me
directly (some kind of quarterly report/meeting or something?).
For instance, I haven't communicated any of this to you, but I've spent the last month or so:
- doing research on some new smart contracting primitive constructions
- attempting to mathematically formalize parts of bitcoin programs
- preparing educational materials on Bitcoin
- continuing my work on open source bitcoin software
- investigating security properties of deep learning algorithms
- developing a couple of ideas for potentially interesting financial services around liquidity for bitcoin contracts
- spoke at the Digital Garage SF conference on bitcoin development
In the next month or so I will be continuing the above as well as preparing for
- Coming to MIT to help with Joi's class
- (potentially) giving an invited talk at Stanford's Blockchain Protocol Analysis and Security Engineering
conference
- Going to Japan to help teach a course to get more Japanese bitcoin developers
Best,
Jeremy
