I would like to bring to your attention a new line of research a few colleagues and I are planning to launch. It is based on the idea formulated in the attached papers, which came out earlier this year, proposing a shared genetic/epigenetic causation behind schizophrenia and certain forms of dementia. This is a totally novel perspective which cuts across traditional brain disease taxonomies and gives rise to an original research strategy into the mechanisms of two major disorders. This approach will also shed light on how genes express themselves in the healthy brain at different life stages with the potential for better understanding the processes behind normal brain aging. My colleagues and I would welcome an opportunity to discuss it with you further.
