I received a call from Rob Imlay, he use to fly for The Limited, he was terminated, he is contract flying now, and
wanted to know if you would be interested in leasing the Gulfstream out for 3 weeks.
Mission:
fly 8 round trip flights from Miami to Mexico City carrying 2000 lbs. of Gold on each flight.
The actual logistics portion is to move 16,000 pounds of Gold Plates from Mexico City to Miami with a security
detail of 5 (passengers). All non-aviation permits and customs will be the responsibility of the Firm
transferring this material. The only requirement of the crew is the normal arrival process that any Operator is
required to accomplish (aircraft and passenger notification). The transfer of material will be about every
other/third day (2,000 lbs per load). The reason for only 2,000 lbs per flight is due to the Cargo being insured
(by the Owner of the Gold) for up to that amount.
Rick Kahn and I figured maybe a 100K profit after paying for fuel and insurance. They are offering $4000 per
hour, and estimate 45 hours of flying.
I had to pass this information on to you, this seams very strange.
We may be able to use West Palm Airport for the cheap fuel as oppose to Miami prices, but feel the exposure is
not worth it.
your thoughts?
