The other half of my Seattle hacker friends that were working for the military have refocused to consumer wifi. http://www.pmewswire.cominews-releases/unium-launches-new-home-wifi-software-solution--alphabets- access-team-explores-as-others-adopt-300383494.html?tc=eml_cleartime It looks like this is an evolution of an idea that Riley & I had discussed over a decade ago: using client wifi devices (iPhone, iPad, computers, etc) as wifi relay nodes. We talked about the difference between eero & google wifi being that eero does multiple point relay (base A talks to base B which talks to base C which is plugged into the modem). Riley seems to think that they can do the same thing but use the devices the consumer already owns (base A talks to iMac which talks to base C which is plugged into the modem), since all wifi devices can already transmit & receive. They've already signed an agreement with google fiber... could be some interesting developments in wifi ahead.
