Hi all - We wanted to give you some updates on recent events, Foundation work, and announcements in the news.
Clinton Foundation launches digital 2015 Annual Report
Today we released our Annual Report for 2015<http://2015.clintonfoundation.org/>. This report shows the impact that our programs have had in the last year through stories of those around the world who are benefitting from our work. It also shows the progress that these programs have made over the past year, reaching more people. For example:
* The Clinton Development Initiative has reached more farmers, in total helping improve the incomes and livelihoods of 105,000 farmers as of 2015, up from 85,000 the year before;
* The Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership has expanded its reach to impact the lives of 450,000 through market opportunities created by social enterprises in Latin America, the Caribbean, and South Asia;
* The Alliance for a Healthier Generation has broadened its work to more than 31,000 schools in 50 states providing students with healthier foods and more physical activity in an effort to decrease childhood obesity.

Clinton Foundation's Health Work and President Clinton's Post-Presidency
Forbes highlighted<http://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2016/01/30/bill-clinton-part-ii/#574b44da4ca7> President Clinton's work tackling some of the biggest health issues facing the United States today. The story discusses the 2016 Health Matters Summit and CHMI's work to combat prescription drug abuse, mental health problems and health disparities.
"However, like when Bill Gates began dedicating efforts to his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, former U.S. President Clinton has embarked on an Part II of his life that in many ways is as important as Part I in impacting the health of millions."
"The Health Matters Summit was just one of wide range of efforts that have been spearheaded by the Clinton Foundation, whose president is former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala."

NBC 10 wrote, "The state is the first to supply Narcan, which reverses a heroin overdose, free to all public high schools. Each school will get one carton of Narcan nasal spray.
'I am thrilled to announce my administration's next step in the fight against the opioid epidemic,' said Gov. Tom Wolf. 'By equipping trained professionals in schools with this drug, we are providing another way to save Pennsylvanian lives. It is our responsibility to give these struggling individuals another chance at life.'
Besides the antidote, schools will also have access to new educational materials and training. Adapt Pharma and the Clinton Foundation offered the drug-overdose antidote."
How the Development Sector Can Use Virtual Reality
Devex posted a piece<https://www.devex.com/news/does-development-need-virtual-reality-87657> about the development sector's growing use of virtual reality media. The piece highlights CGI's virtual reality film, "Inside Impact,"<https://www.facebook.com/clintonglobalinitiative/videos/10153250212525318/> including a video interview with the producer of the film.
"I pulled the headphones over my ears, fastened the headset to my face, and waited for the start of a virtual reality film titled "Inside Impact: East Africa." I was transported from the Social Innovation Summit in Silicon Valley, California, to Tanzania, where I sat in a room with Bill Clinton and a Solar Sister entrepreneur. While I did not want to leave this world, where I was just steps from the former president in a quiet living room with kids watching from the corner and birds chirping outside, another part of me wanted to reach out and say something to Robert Holzer, the executive producer of the film who stood right beside me."

CGI Commitment Mobilizes African-American Faith Leaders to Fight HIV Epidemic
To commemorate National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (Feb. 7), theGrio published this op-ed<http://thegrio.com/2016/02/05/black-church-hiv-aids-awareness-stigma/> from Pastor John Faison Sr. about the CGI commitment made by the NAACP and Gilead Sciences to significantly scale up their initiative, The Black Church and HIV: The Social Justice Imperative. Through their commitment, they are enlisting faith leaders as change agents to address the disproportionately severe impact of HIV on African-Americans.
"I know all too well that "faith without works is dead." Which is why I was encouraged when in 2013 the NAACP and Gilead walked the walk by making a "Commitment to Action" through the Clinton Global Initiative to significantly scale up The Black Church & HIV initiative.
By 2018, we aim to conduct 45 faith leader trainings in the 30 cities most impacted by HIV, secure proactive resolutions from seven of nine historically black mainline denominations, and integrate HIV as a social justice issue into required curricula in five predominantly African-American theological seminaries.
We've made progress on our CGI commitment-500 more faith leaders are rallying their congregations to fight this epidemic because of our effort. But we need hundreds more to help lead us to a new Promised Land where, instead of milk and honey, good health and true justice await us."
Newest Class of Presidential Leadership Scholars Announced
On Tuesday, we announced the newest class of Presidential Leadership Scholars. The Presidential Leadership Scholars program<http://www.presidentialleadershipscholars.org/> is a leadership development initiative that draws upon the resources of the presidential centers of Lyndon B. Johnson, George H.W. Bush, William J. Clinton, and George W. Bush. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette wrote<http://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2016/feb/03/61-picked-as-2016-s-leadership-scholars/?f=news-arkansas> about the program and the scholars selected for the 2016 class, including two Arkansans.
"Two Arkansans were among 61 people chosen to be Presidential Leadership Scholars this year, according to the Clinton Foundation.
Over the next six months, they'll learn about leadership challenges faced by four former presidents -- Lyndon Johnson, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush -- and will visit those presidents' libraries."
"'This is a really intense leadership program that's been thoughtfully designed,' said [Presidential Leadership Scholar John Forrest] Ales. 'It's just an incredible thing to be a part of.'"
