Like making sure your local Walmart can stock semi-automatic assault weapons such as the Bushmaster .223 that was used in the Sandy Hook massacre and that can fire more than six bullets per second. The NRA forces politicians to oppose background checks for weapons sold at gun shows. The NRA has even been able to compel its allies in Congress to oppose a ban on weapons sales to people on the U.S. terrorism watch list.2 In his address to the nation, President Obama vowed "to take meaningful action." We will hold him accountable for sending legislation to Capitol Hill as soon as possible to address the crisis of gun violence in this country.
