This year IFP celebrates the 21" Philipp F.ngelhorn anniversary of the Gotham Independent Film Awards, and we have been fortunate enough to include Hunter Gray Peggy on our Advisory Committee for the last two years. Ted Hope The Gotham Awards are the first honors of the film awards season and the premiere fundraiser for James lanowitz the IFP, supporting our numerous programs all year-long. I would love to invite you to attend this Andrew Karpen year's ceremony and have included a formal invitation with more information. As per Peggy's Jeffrey Kusama-Hine suggestion, we would request a tax-deductible donation of $6000 to help underwrite the cost of the Jewell Jackson McCabe event. Craig Nevill-Manning The 201 1 Gotham Awards will take place the evening of November 28 at Cipriani Wall Street in Sheila Nevins Downtown Manhattan and will be hosted by Edie Falco and Oliver Platt. We are thrilled to be Katherine Oliver honoring David Cronenberg, Charlize Theron. Gary Oldman, and Fox's Tom Rothman, all of whom Stephan Paternot will be in attendance. In addition, we have a number of exciting nominees, including Terrence John Schmidt Malick's The Tree of Life, Alexander Payne's The Descendants. Kelly Reichardt's Meek's Cutoff as well Sharon Solomon as the casts of Margin Call. Beginners, and Martha, Marcy, May, Marlene, among others. Man of the actors of these films will be in attendance, as well as talents such as Tilda Swinton and Lance Weiler Adam Yauch The Gotham Independent Film Awards honors the filmmaking community, expands the audience for independent films, and supports the work that IFP does behind the scenes throughout the year to ONORART BOARD bring such films to fruition. To give you a better idea about the IFP, we are the nation's oldest and Barker largest not-for-profit advocacy organization for independent filmmakers. We have supported 7,000 David Linde films and offered resources to more than 20,000 filmmakers since our inception in 1979. We have championed the early work of pioneering independent filmmakers such as Charles Burnett. Todd Rosie Perez Haynes. Mira Nair. Michael Moore, Joel and Ethan Coen. Kevin Smith. and Todd Solondz. Through Carole D. Radziwill our workshops, seminars, conferences. mentorships. and Filmmaker Magazine, we school our Bingham Ray members in the art, technology, and business of independent filmmaking.
