when you are head over heels in love you will do anything to make her happy. But when do you
draw the line? When you know that you arc turning her into a spoiled brat. You know you arc
turning her into a spoiled brat when she tries to rationalize her actions even if they are downright
wrong, impractical or even abusive.
Over tolerance and acceptance can turn her into a monster and your relationship into a chaotic
and distressing place to be. Too much of everything is damaging and this includes tolerance and
acceptance. When you truly love the person, even if it hurts you, you need to be tough if you
know it's for the best.
Spoiled child syndrome
, the spoiled child syndrome was identified and described by Bruce McIntosh in 1989. The
syndrome is characterized by "excessive, self-centered, and immature behavior". It includes lack
of consideration for other people, an inability to handle the delay of gratification, demands for
having one's own way, and obstructiveness.,. McIntosh attributed the syndrome to "the failure of
parents to enforce consistent, limits", but others, such as Aylward, note that temperament is
probably a contributory factor.
Etiology
• Failure of parents to enforce limits.
• Parents shielding the child from normal everyday frustrations.
• Provision of excessive material gifts, even when the child has not behaved properly.
