Creditors will probably file legal proceedings for payment soon and then it becomes real messy since there is no money to pay. Unless Andrew steps in at this point to avoid this publicity which would be a solution in itself. On 8 Jan 2010, at 11:37, Jeffrey Epstein wrote: thats fair.. To: Jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]> Is Fergie's film deal In Jeopardy? 08th January 2010 Just when she thought her latest money troubles were over thanks to a film deal for her children's books, the Duchess of York faces financial worry once again. HandMade Films, the company behind the cult Withnail And I and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, which signed an agreement to turn Fergie's stories into an animated TV series, yesterday asked for its shares to be suspended due to uncertainty over its finances. Only two months ago, HandMade's flamboyant former sole owner Patrick Meehan, the one-time manager of rock group Black Sabbath, brought a welcome windfall to the Duchess when his firm announced that her Little Red and Tea For Ruby books would become part of a project tapping into the lucrative children's TV and merchandise market. Fergie, who spent Christmas with her close friend Findus tycoon Geir Frantzen, was told she would receive 'substantial amounts of money' from the tie-up. But the picture is now unclear, and I understand that she is owed money by HandMade. EFTA00766093 It is the fourth time shares in HandMade have been suspended in the past three years. In July, they were suspended after failing to publish audited accounts for 2008. At the time the company said this was due to it being in talks about 'multiple corporate transactions'. It also posted a pre-tax loss of £6.4 million for the year to December 2008, down from £8.2 million in the previous year. Staff at the firm found their pay cheques did not arrive on time on several occasions over the past two-and-a-half years. The company, whose chairman is Richard Northcott, former boss of celebrity jewellers Theo Fennell, has been involved with three films in the past year - Planet 51, the animated sci-fi movie which cost £38 million and has so far taken £25million at the box office, Fifty Dead Men Walking with Sir Ben Kingsley, and Cracks, a thriller starring Bond Girl Eva Green. According to a spokesman, HandMade is now undertaking a review of its finances. Where this leaves Fergie is uncertain, but I am told she is 'very relaxed' about the situation. HandMade was founded by Beetle George Harrison, and was sold after his death to Meehan, whose family remains the largest shareholder. <article-1241479-0204C5F90000644D448_233x423.jpg> Finance fears: Fergie's books might not become films after all This message is confidential.
