Having this on my mind, I suggest triple layer of the best varnish on the market. I also noticed that the surface to be treated is double the size of the doors. Still, I need to work from the erected scaffold to reach all carved side decorations of the steps. Carved side to the second Floor 26 square feet Total 414 square feet of surface Sand entire surface for smoothness with #120, 180, 320 grade of sand paper Wash entire surface with Denatured Alcohol to remove impurities from the surface Wash with Aceton to completely de-grease the surface to avoid the forming "fish-eyes" before the application of varnish. Triple application of the best varnish on the market, sanding between the coats. Total for labor $12,600.- Allow two day between next application of varnish.
