I was up in the hills retrieving some artwork that Feynman did, which I lent back for an exhibition on his artwork last year. Towards the gathering... My suggestions: No more that 14 - 16 people. Spouses stay off island, but can visit on a day. An intimate well selected group does not need any contrivances to stimulate, such as interesting object, etc. This is only for gathering of 50 or more, where people tend to hang in groups and don't network well. So, not applicable here. The success of this party is totally dependant on the quality and specific mix of the people attending. Although this sounds obvious, it needs some consideration. Also, there should not be the same ol' boys network, of just the usual suspects, who already know each other well, and therefore, there is little to no spontaneity. Have old school, half new. In other words, they shouldn't definitely not all know each other. Not just technical wizards, engineers, etc. A diverse group... Qualities: Highly Educated and Informed, intellectual ability as well as intellectual judgment Passionate and Animated Fun and Loves to Play Not Dead Interesting to listen to, and can speak and contribute intelligently on a broad range of topics, not just their own narrow focus. Provocative in ideas and can hold their own in a discussion Social and Outgoing Likeable Gets Jeffrey to say, "Hey Al, this guy is really cool!
