1. INSTALLATION
We recommend that you do not install earlier versions of Easy CD Creator over Easy CD Creator 4.02.
2. WINDOWS 2000
Easy CD Creator 4.02 supports Windows 2000 Server and Professional Editions.
3. EASY CD CREATOR 4
3.1 IF YOU ARE RUNNING VIRUS SCAN
You may experience buffer underruns if you are running this application while you are burning a CD. If
you encounter this problem, you should close any other open applications or try lowering the write speed.
3.2 CANCELING A DAO RECORDING
If you select "Cancel" when doing a test run of a Disc at Once disc, Easy CD Creator may not return
control to you right away. A few drives exhibit this problem since they don't return control to Easy CD
Creator in a timely manner.
3.3 ADDING COPYRIGHT, ABSTRACT, AND BIBLIOGRAPHY INFORMATION TO A CD
Copyright, Abstract and Bibliography information (under the CD Layout/File system tab) must be in the
EFTA00578262
form of a text file to be valid.
There are two ways of selecting these files. You can add a text file by browsing (click on the browse icon
located at the right of each of the edit boxes) and selecting the file that you want. Or you can type a
VALID file name within the edit boxes.
3.4 BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY WITH LAYOUTS
Layouts from previous versions of Easy CD Creator cannot be opened or read by Easy CD Creator 4.
3.5 CREATING A CD EXTRA FILE IMAGE (".cif)
When you create a file image for CD-Extra CD (*.cif) in either Disc At Once or Track At Oce mode you
must use the same recording method
(DAO / TAO) when you record it to a CD.
3.6 WORKING WITH 80 MINUTE CDs
Easy CD Creator supports 80 minute CDs. If you are recording to an 80 minute CD and would like the
Easy CD Creator layout screen to reflect this, double-click in the Estimated Time area in the Easy CD
Creator 4 Status bar and select "Estimate Based on 80 Minute CD."
4. JEWEL CASE CREATOR
4.1 PRINTING ISSUES
The front/inside insert art will only print completely on plain paper or stock types that fold.
Printing the front only will print part of the inside on the left of the stock.
4.2 TEST PRINT
We suggest that you perform a test print on regular paper first to check for correct alignment.
Printer offsets can be adjusted using Printer Adjustments dialog. Click the Adjust Printer option
in the Print dialog.
5. ACCESSING THE CDDB DISC RECOGNITION SERVICE
If you use AOL to access the Internet, you will need an active Internet connection prior to attempting to
access the CDDB Disc Recognition Service.
6. USB DRIVES
If you are using a USB CD-recorder, it is recommended that you use a recording speed of 2X.
------------------
7. GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING
Audio tracks recorded on CD-RW media may not be playable in home or car stereos.
Not all CD-ROM drives support digital audio extraction. Easy CD Creator will notify you if it cannot
extract audio from your CD-ROM drive. In this case, we recommend you use your
CD-RICD-RW drive to extract audio.
If you are copying CDs or audio tracks from a source ATAPI CD-ROM drive, you may experience buffer
underruns if your CD-ROM drive is not fast enough to keep up with your CD-RICD-RW drive. If you
EFTA00578263
experience this, you should try reducing your write speed to lx, or buffer to your hard drive first.
