There are two main steps involved: 1) searching and viewing footage and 2) accessing and downloading footage. For step one, use our private youtube account. For step two, use our box.net account. Box.net is not the site you want to use to search and view video; the site requires you to download footage before viewing, which can sometimes be a timely affair. Step-by-step instructions for using each site are detailed below. For those not in the trenches of the tracking/media monitoring world, it may be difficult to navigate these sites initially -- even with instructions. Further, every media monitoring clip we've captured is also posted on this private account. The site is currently holding thousands of video clips – and it is updated daily with more clips from our tracking/media monitoring efforts. Every entry on the youtube account includes a transcript of the key parts of the clip. If you see a clip without a transcript, it means we are still in the process of working on that clip for a tracking or media monitoring report. The quality of the footage on this private youtube account is low. However, every video on the youtube account has a corresponding high resolution version on our FTP site, Box.net. If you wish to download a video that you see on youtube, go to Box.net. *Instructions to Search and View Footage* - *LOG IN*: Our videos are all set to 'private' so no one can see or access them without logging into the account. To log in, go to youtube.com, click on 'Log-in' and type in the following information: Username: IssueAlliance Password: EyeHeartGOP - *ENTER 'My Videos' SECTION*: First click on 'Account.' Then click on 'My Videos.' This is where you access our privately stored videos. - *SEARCH BOX*: There are two search boxes on this page. You will want to use the search box that is preceded by the words 'Search my videos for.' This box lets you search within our youtube page. The other box allows you to search all of youtube and since our videos are private, they will not pop-up from that search. - *ENTER KEYWORDS*: In the search box for 'my videos,' type in the keywords of the clips you'd like to see. For example, you can type in 'McCain Iraq' and all our clips tagged with those words will appear. - *VIEW VIDEO*: Click on the video you'd like to watch and it will automatically play. - *VIEW TRANSCRIPT, CLIP LABEL*: Immediately right to the video is a box that includes this information. Most of the time, the information is covered up. To view the full list of information, click on the blue 'More info' words. *Best Method for Downloading High Resolution Footage: Use Box.net* *Description* Box.net is the vendor we use to store, back up and easily disseminate high quality video files. It operates similar to an FTP site. It is the site where you can go to download clips you've found on youtube. You do not want to use this site to search for video – as it requires you to download footage before viewing it. Everything that appears on the private youtube site also appears on Box.net in a higher resolution. Tracking footage is available on the site in broadcast quality; media monitoring footage is available in DVD (when available) and web quality. Also on Box.net are other projects, such as in-progress web videos, Bush videos, compressed files of full tracking video, etc. *Instructions to Find and Download Footage* - *SEARCH and VIEW on YOUTUBE*: Box.net is not built for easy viewing. So before you enter the site, it is best to find the clip you want on the private youtube account. Once you do that, copy down the clip label. ** - *LOG IN*: To access the account go to Box.net.
