The foam will act in a similar fashion to the way "isolation mounts" are used for mounting bulkheads and large structures in an aircraft. This should be a relatively simple solution and we will run it by Carmen Basille of Sikorsky. If so, you are actually sitting on a cushion that is affixed to the fuel extension. As such, it would be highly probable that any vibration to this cabinet/area would directly transfer to the seating foam. I assume that you are more in tune / sensitive to this as Sikorsky normally uses various densities of DAX foam, who's composition and purpose does not directly address "energy absorption" or "dampening / vibration isolation". Please let me know if you feel that I have the proper understanding and that I am heading in the right direction as you see it. If so, I will come up with a solution — one that will most likely combine the use of the "confor" foam on the bottom of the cushion (to isolate and dampen any energy transfer) and the -DAX" foam to provide comfortable upholstery support. This foam (which we had samples of in our show room) should not be used in cabin seating primarily due to the fact that the foam (regardless of specific densities) has a very slow "recovery rate" and will cause the upholstery to look terrible. This type of foam is rarely used in aviation and when it is; it is used for crew seats applications on experimental type aircraft. Bottom line is that we do not recommend this foam for your seating. EFTA00770033 Larry, we are expecting the proforma today for the Tai Ping carpet. Once received, we will review for accuracy and forward this to you and Sarah for payment as the carpet should be in the states in the next few days. We have started to fabricate the cabin area ledges and most materials have been ordered. As we are first "spooling up", we will start getting you photo's to keep you up to date. Based upon the e-mail address above, I assume that this is being delivered to JE at one of his homes. For photo updates, do you prefer that I send all e-mails to Larry to then decipher and distribute or would you like for us to include a different e- mail address? Just let me know what works best for you both? Have a great day!
