On 3/29/2021, a grand jury returned a superseding indictment in the case against Ghislaine Maxwell. Two new charges were added in the superseding indictment to include Sex Trafficking of a Minor and Sex Trafficking Conspiracy from the time period 2001 through 2004. In addition to the two added charges, the superseding indictment expounded on the charges for Count 1: Conspiracy to Entice Minors to Travel to Engage in Illegal Sex Acts and Count 3: Conspiracy to Transport Minors with Intent to Engage in Criminal Sexual Activity from in or around 1994 to up to 2004. In the original indictment the first four counts charged up to 1997, so count 1 and 3 now include conduct up through 2004. Trial is scheduled for July 12.
