Record-Breaking 3 Million Comments Supporting Carbon Rule & Final House Assault on Public Health The last vote the U.S. House of Representatives took before heading back to their districts to campaign full-time was on a sweeping package of bills (H.R. 3409) that gutted bedrock environmental protections in landmark environmental statutes like the Clean Water Act and the Clean Air Act, which Americans have relied on for decades to protect them from harmful pollution.  This legislation marked an all-too-predictable final assault on the health of the American people by the most anti-environment chamber of Congress in history.  Big polluters' allies dubbed this legislation the "Stop the War on Coal Act".  Working with colleagues at the American Lung Association we successfully branded this bill the "War on Lungs" for its deadly impact on our health.
