There should be a space between the ls= slat and the head and foot rail.

correct.

Mattress size is correct, standard size for queen beds
I have confirmed size a number of times,
I have been on site for all construction of beds and all have been construc=ed
correctly, there are very few parts hard to not get the assembly correc=
