party’s national convention this July in Philadelphia. The delegates are Kathy Ensz, Jerad Sutton and Jeri Shepard, according to an email sent Wednesday by the Weld County Democratic Party. The delegates were elected at the Colorado Democratic Convention and the congressional district conventions that were held April 15-16 in Loveland. Shepard was elected to serve a four-year term on the Democratic National Committee. She will be one of five Democrats to represent Colorado on the National Committee. She will be an unpledged delegate, which is otherwise known as a “super-delegate” at the 2020 National Convention. Unfortunately, most people do not even know that these district election caucuses even take place. Subsequently, some persons may be easily elected due to voter apathy or low voter turn-out. In most cases, the delegate elected will be the individual who is able to get most of their voters to come out from their congressional districts.
