Re: Survey of Impact and Development of Remediation Plan
Dear Darren,
Bioimpact, Inc. proposes to survey the potential area of impact and delineate the area of
impact, as well as the impacts which have occurred. This is be done by dive surveys and
review of the existing data and surveys of the shoreline. Based on primary review there
has been some change which could not have been the result of natural causes. The cost
of the review and the surveys will be $ 6370.00. This will include detailed assessment of
the area and evaluation of actual impact to individual corals and other benthic organisms
in the area reviewing historical aerials, previous surveys and previous benthic
photography. The area had been surveyed in the past on several occasions and there are
pictures of the benthic community within the area. A report will be prepared
documenting the actual sq. ft. of impact and what benthic organisms have been impacted.
The report will also document whether it is feasible to remove some or all of the fill
material and what additional impacts may occur due to its removal.
Once this is complete a remediation and mitigation plan can be developed. Until the
actual scope of impact is determined the scope of the plan cannot be determined.
Please let me know how you would like me to proceed. I would like to start diving on
Wednesday so that I may address this as soon as possible.
Respectfully submitted,
Amy Claire Dempsey, M,
President, Bioimpact, Inc.
