Thank you for your email, Al -
What splendid ideas!
I know Jeffrey's impact well firsthand -
he has generously contributed to projects my colleagues and I have pursued and are pursuing at
the interface - some might say, the unfortunate schism - between neuroscience and the arts.
Unfortunate, given the latter's ethological relevance to human behavior. In other words, any
neuroethology of human behavior must include the study of brain mechanisms mediating the
cognitive neuroscience of music, the visual arts, etc.
Jeffrey grasped this intuitively, and quickly - as well as other, more quantitative aspects of our
work on neural coding of acoustic information in music - and provided anonymous support.
Am en route to the sites! Please don't hesitate to call or write if I can help in any way.
With warm regards to Jeffrey,
Mark
