I've selected a real variety of clips that I hope will provide him with a sense of my writing style and my ability to translate complex ideas into a compelling read. send a few e-mails with a few attachments each. I think it's worth mentioning that as a journalist, I write frequently. But a large part of my career has also been spent editing, which includes searching for the most compelling ideas in science and medicine, and helping other writers -- and scientists -- tell these stories in a logical, clear and engaging way. I've also overseen the design and redesign of a number of website to showcase the work of magazines and not-for-profit organizations alike. I'd be happy to expand on any of these experiences and to provide editing samples, should they be of interest. They clips include the following: 1) Review of The Snoring Bird by biologist Bernd Heinrich for the Globe and Mail newspaper in Canada. 2) An article about the world's first climate change research module for On Earth magazine. 3) A Q&A with author Emma Marris about her book Rambunctious Garden, also for On Earth magazine. 4) A selection of recent blog posts and Q&As for PopTech, a east coast version of the TED conference. 5) An article on so-called "silent mutations" that I did for Seed. His project sounds exciting and I would welcome the opportunity to become involved. Opportunities to communicate provocative scientific ideas are much too rare. I'll be in touch later today with the clips he requested. Best, Lindsay On Mar 19, 2012, at 9:58 AM, Lesley Groff wrote: Hi Lindsay. Jeffrey appreciates you coming out last week.
