Subject: Hello from the Financial Times
Hi
I write about global finance for the Financial Times newspaper in New York, where we are running a piece
about the months leading up to Jim Kim's departure from the World Bank this week.
In the course of our reporting we have repeatedly been told about an incident in which the Staff Association
referred to the World Bank board various claims, which were
held to have a bearing on Dr Kim's conduct and his suitability for office.
So far as we can ascertain, these interactions between the Staff Association and the board have not surfaced
publicly. They are clearly a matter of significant public interest, given the implications for governance at an
important multilateral institution and the disquiet that persisted among much of its staff during his tenure. So
I'd very much like to find a moment to talk by phone and ask what happened.
From what I understand alread
. I want to make certain that what we write reflects the
perspective of everyone involved.
Perhaps you could suggest a good time to call? Or you can reach me any time on one of the numbers below.
Best
Mark
