See Figure 1. • • • Touch Screen Remote Controls There are two color touch screen remote control units provided for the aircraft. They operate the following components: Cabin Monitors • Cabin Speakers • A irshow CD Changer • Digital Video Disc (DVD) Players • External Cameras • Cabin Lights • Cabin Temperature • Cabin Window Shades March, 2008 Page 3 EFTA00803075 Entertainment S/N 5173 G450 Cabin Operating Manual The left side of the remote contains buttons to activate the screen, scroll page up, and scroll page down. The right side of the remote contains hard keys for video select up, video select down, speaker on/ott, speaker volume up, and speaker volume down. Below the screen are buttons to select forward or aft cabin. The bottom of the remote contains controls for A irshow-Select. DVD- Menu. A irshow-Next. A irshow-Mode. and DVD-Subtitle. See Figure 2. Selections will be highlighted on the remote control touch screen to indicate the transmission ofa signal but you will not see an indication of your selection other than the audio or video response. In other words. if you select PLAY on the remote, you will not see PLAY on the monitor — watch the monitor or listen to the audio to confirm your selections. Ensure the remotes are placed in the charging cradle when not in use. Page 4 March, 2008 EFTA00803076 S/N 5173 G450 Cabin Operating Manual Entertainment Macro Commands The remote control units offer one-touch keys for certain functions. The forward and aft cabin zones operate in a similar manner so only one will be discussed here. To Use Macro Commands Select FWD or AFT to go to the selected FWD CABIN ZONE page or the AFT CABIN ZONE PAGE and select the desired activity. I. PLAY A DVD: This jumps directly to the DVD 1 MAIN page and turns on the selected monitor and the selected speakers, selects DVD I source and plays the DVD from slot I. 2. LISTEN TO A CD: This jumps directly to the CD page and turns on the speakers in the selected cabin zone, selects CD source and plays CD from the last selected position/slot. NOTE: Since no software exists to instruct the CDplayer to play slot I. the last selected CD position is played when listen to a CD Is executed. 3. CABIN SLEEP: This turns offall cabin effect lights, lowers all cabin window shades, turns off all cabin monitors and turns off all speak- ers. NOTE: Thepersonal 7" monitors are not controlled by this system and must bephysically turned on and off 4. CABIN SLEEP WITH AIRSHOW: This jumps directly to the AIR- SHOW page and turns off all cabin effect lights, lowers all cabin window shades, turns on cabin monitors, turns off all speakers, and selects Airshow video source for cabin monitors. 5. CABIN SLEEP WITH DVD: This jumps to DVD MAIN page, turns off all cabin lights, lowers all cabin shades, turns on all cabin moni- tors, turns on all speakers, and selects DVD I source and plays the DVD from slot I. 6. MUTF_JUNMUTE AUDIO: This mutes and unmutes the audio output in the selected zones. Cabin Device Control To Operate the Cabin Monitors I. Turn on the forward or aft cabin monitors: a. Select DEVICE CONTROL at the bottom of the screen. c. Select AN SRC from the menu bar on the left of the screen. d. Select MON ON or MON OFF to turn the selected monitor on and off. e. Press VIDEO SELECT+ or VIDEO SELECT— to select the de- sired video source. The corresponding audio source will follow provided the speakers have been turned on. To Operate the Cabin Speakers I. Select the forward or aft cabin speakers by pressing FWD or AFT the button below the screen. 2. Select DEVICE CONTROL at the bottom of the screen. 3. Select AN SRC from the menu bar on the left of the screen. 4. Select then press SPKR ON or SPKR OFF to turn the speaker power on and off in the selected cabin area. 5. Press AUDIO SELECT+ or AUDIO SELECT— to select the desired audio source. 6. Select VOLUME+ or VOLUME— to adjust the volume. To Operate Airshovt Mode Control I. Ensure the cabin monitors and speakers are on. 2. Select AIRSHOW as video source. 3. Select AIRSHOW from the menu bar on the left of the screen. 4. Press the MODE icon to change Airshowt modes. 5. Use the cursor keys to navigate menus and make selections. 6. Use the NEXT and SELECT buttons to navigate and select menu items. To Operate the Auxiliary Audio/Video Panel I. Ensure the cabin monitors and speakers are on. 2. Plug desired component into the audio and video jacks on the Aux- iliary AN Panel, then press SELECT. 3. Select FWD or AFT cabin area by pressing one of the buttons below the screen. 4. Select DEVICE CONTROL at the bottom of the screen. Press VIDEO SELECT+ or VIDEO SELECT— to select AUX as the source. The corresponding audio source will follow provided the speakers have been turned on. To Operate the CD Changer I. Ensure the cabin speakers are on and CD selected as audio source. 2. Ensure the CD changer is on and has been loaded with CDs. 3. Select CD from the menu bar on the left side of the screen. 4. Use the ►, ■, or II icons for play, stop, or pause. 5. Use DISC+. DISC—. ►M, or IN, to advance to the next disc, to select the previous disc, fast track advance forward, or fast track reverse. To Operate ►he DVD Players NOTE: Each dualplayer has two disc slots. The top DVD unit is DVD I (upper slot) and DVD 2 (lower slot). The bottom DVD mil Is DVD 3 (upper slot) andDVD 4 (lower slot). I. Ensure the cabin monitors and speakers are on. 2. At the DVD unit, insert a DVD. The unit will commence playing. 3. Select the DVD as the video source on the monitor you are viewing. The corresponding audio source will follow. 4. Select DVD from the menu bar on the left side of the screen. 5. Use the arrows at the top of the screen to select DVD I. DVD 2. DVD 3, or DVD 4. 6. Press the MENU icon go to the menu page. Use the navigational arrows to set up the DVD, e.g., subtitles, scene selection, or lan- guage. 7. Press the MAIN icon to go to the main page. Use the ►. • . ON, IN, 14, 44, or II icons for play. stop. skip forward, skip back, fast forward. fast reverse, or pause. To Operate the External Camera I. Ensure cabin monitors are on and CAMERA is selected as the video source. 2. Select CAMERA from the menu bar on the left of the screen. 3. Press FWD to select the forward camera view, AFT to select the aft camera view, or TOP to select the top camera view. March. 2008 Page 7 EFTA00803079 Entertainment LW 5173 G450 Cabin Operating Manual To Operate the Cabin Lights I. Select the FWD or AFT cabin area by pressing one of the buttons below the screen. 2. Select DEVICE CONTROL at the bottom of the screen. 3. Select CABIN from the menu bar on the left of the screen. 4. Select LIGHTS from the menu. 5. Use the UPPER ON/OFF icon to turn the upper cabin lighting on and off. 6. Use the LOWER ON/OFF icon to turn the lower cabin lighting on and off. 7. Use the BRT and DIM icons to raise or lower the upper and lower cabin lighting. To Operate the Cabin Temperature I. Select the FWD or AFT cabin area by pressing one of the buttons below the screen. 2. Select DEVICE CONTROL at the bottom of the screen. 3. Select CABIN from the menu bar on the left of the screen. 4. Select TEMP from the menu. 5. Select the FWD CABIN TEMP-WARM and FWD CABIN TEMP- COOL arrow icons to raise or lower the forward cabin area tempera- ture. 6. Select the AFT CABIN TEMP-WARM and AFT CABIN TEMP- COOL arrow icons to raise or lower the AFT cabin area tempera- ture. 7. Select the ALL CABIN TEMP-WARM and ALL CABIN TEMP- COOL arrow icons to raise or lower the entire cabin temperature. To Operate the Cabin Window Shades Master NOTE: Using the cabin window shade master will control all the cabin window shades at the same time. Available choices are allfully open, fully closed or sheer, there are no incrementalpositions. Once a selection is made, allow the shades to continue moving to the selectedposition before making another choke. I. Select the FWD or AFT cabin area by pressing one of the buttons below the screen. Select CABIN from the menu bar on the left of the screen. 4. Select SHADES tab. 5. Select MASTER SHADES, FWD MASTER SHADES or AFT MASTER SHADES. 5. Press FULL UP to raise the cabin window shades to fully open. 6. Press FULL DOWN to lower the cabin window shades to fully closed and opaque. 7. Press SHEER to place the cabin window shades to the sheer shade position. 8. Press BACK to return to the SHADE CONTROLS screen. •• Audio Selection The cabin entertainment audio system distributes all audio for the cabin compartments and lavatories over the cabin speakers or for individual head- phones. Audio Sources • Auxiliary Audio/Video Panel • CD Player • Digital Video Disc (DVD) Players • Passenger Address Speakers The cabin speaker system is split into forward and aft cabin systems between the divans and the credenza. Speakers are located throughout the aircraft but the lavatory speakers only receive PA chime and audio. Headphones Headphones are stored onboard. Headphone jacks are installed in the switch panel located adjacent to each seat. I. At the entertainment switchpanel, press FWD CONTROL, then press CABIN SPEAKERS-ON to turn on the speakers in the forward cabin. Press AFT CONTROL, then press CABIN SPEAKERS-ON to turn on the speakers in the aft cabin area. 2. At the galley switch panel, press CABIN CONTROL-FWD, then press SPEAKERS-ON to turn on the speakers in the forward cabin. Press CABIN CONTROL-AFT, then press SPEAKERS-ON to turn on the speakers in the aft cabin. 3. At the VIP switch panels, press the CABIN SPEAKERS-ON switch. 4. At the switch panels, press the AUDIO button until desired audio source appears in the display window. NOTE: The galleyswitchpanelcontrols only speakerpower and volume. It does not include audio selection. 5. Press the VOLUME button up or down to adjust the volume. Headphone Audio I. Plug a headset into the audio jack located in the individual cabin switch panel. 2. At that seat switch panel, press the AUDIO button until the desired source appears in the display window. 3. Press the VOLUME button up or down to adjust the volume. •• Video Selection The cabin entertainment video system receives. processes. and distributes all video for the cabin compartments. Video Sources • Airshow' • Auxiliary Audio/Video Panel Page 10 March. 2008 EFTA00803082 SIN 5173 G450 Cabin Operating Manual Entertainment • Digital Video Disc (DVD) Players • External Cameras Monitors There is one 20" Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) monitor installed in the aircraft. It is installed in the forward LH cabin bulkhead. Switches for this monitor are located in the entertainment switch panel, the forward VIP switch panel. and the touch screen remote control units. There is one 17" LCD monitor installed in the aircraft. It is installed between the windows above the credenza. Switches for this monitor are located in the entertainment switch panel. the aft VIP switch panel, and the touch screen remote control units. There are eight 7" monitors in the aircraft. One is provided as loose equipment for the forward communication area. Six arc installed between the windows at the single seats. Switches for these monitors are located at the individual seat switch panels. The ON/OFF switch, scaling switch, and brightness con- trol switches are located on the monitor. The scaling switch allows selection between normal mode, wide mode, full mode, and cinema mode. NOTE: Ensure the monitors arepowered OFF andproperly stowedprior to takeoffandlandings. To Turn on the Monitors I. Turn on the forward cabin monitor: a. At the entertainment switchpanel, press FWD CONTROL, then press MONITOR-ON. b. At theforward VIP switchpanel. press MONITOR-ON. 2 Turn on the aft monitor a. At the entertainment switchpanel, press AFT CONTROL. then press MONITOR-ON. b. At the aft VIP switchpanel. press MONITOR-ON. 3. Turn on the 7" monitors by pressing the power switch on each moni- tor. 4. At all the switch panels. press the VIDEO switch until the required monitor source appears in the display window. NOTE: For the personal monitors located at RH single seat 2 andLH single seat 5. press the SEAT VIDEO button until the'required monitor source appears in the display window • • • March, 2008 Page 11 EFTA00803083 Entertainment S/N 5173 G450 Cabin Operating Manual Airshow The Airshow 4000 system provides various multimedia applications. video. audio. text, and 3D graphics to supply information to the cabin entertainment system. The monitors can display the following standard Airshowt features: • World and local maps • Real time flight information • Relative location indicator • Temperature • Customized company logo The cabin display can also display the following features: • Weather • Stock reports • Sports • U.S. news • World news Time zones Mouse The Airshow t mouse is available through the touch screen remotes to select between the different Airshowt features. See the Touch Screen Remote Con- trols section for instructions. How to Perform an Update I. Select one of the contents - CNN, BBC, etc. 2. At the bottom of the headline screen are two buttons used for updat- ing the content. Clicking on these buttons will initiate a phone call to the Airshow Member Services Center to uplink new content to the system. 3. Select the content button. e.g. CNN News. to update the selected content only. 4. Select ALL FEEDS to update all the content providers that have been purchased for the system. 5. During the uplink. the CONTENT UPDATE box will provide status of the uplink process. Page 12 March, 2008 EFTA00803084 5/P15173 G450 Cabin Operating Manual Entertainment 6. If there is no current content available to be displayed, a NO CON- TENT AVAILABLE message will be displayed in place of the head- line view. In order to now view content, an update must be initiated as described above. Airshove Modes The Airshow% modes, AUTO, INFO, MAP, and LOGO, can be controlled from the following locations: • Entertainment Switch Panel • Forward VIP Switch Panel • Aft VIP Switch Panel • Touch Screen Remote Control Units NOTE: Ensure A irshow' has been selectedas video source on the switch panel. • • • Auxiliary AudioNideo Panel One auxiliary audio/video panel is installed in the credenza. The panel consists ofAUDIO LEFT/RIGHT and VIDEO jacks. as well as a SELECT switch. The panel allows input to the cabin audio and video systems using various portable sources. e.g., MP3 player. game consoles, laptop computers. etc. When selected as an input source. AUX will be displayed as the audio and video sources on the cabin switch panels. To Operate the Auxiliary ANPanel I. Plug selected unit into the audio and video jacks on the panel and press the SELECT button. 2. At the cabin switch panel. press the VIDEO select button until AUX appears in the display. the corresponding audio will follow if appli- cable. • • • March, 2008 Page 13 EFTA00803085 Entertainment S/N 5173 6450 Cabin Operating Manual CD Changer A Blaupunkt 3210-I-I CD changer is installed in the credenza. It can be oper- ated from the unit or from the touch screen remote control units. Basic Operation NOTE: Some ofthe control switches are split. Press the top ofthe split switchfor the top function or the bottom ofthe split switchfor the bottomfunction; e.g., press the top ofthefar RH split switch (DISC+) to skipforward to the next disc or press the bottom of the split switch (DISC) to skip backwards to previous discs. I. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit. 2. Press the CD selector button I through 5 to select a disc or press and hold the button to eject the disc. 3. Press the PLAY ► button to begin play. 4. Press the STOP■ button to stop playback. 5. Press the top of the si switch to skip tracks forward. Press the lower part of the Mt switch to skip tracks backwards. 6. Press the top of the N switch to fast forward. Press the lower part of the 44 switch for fast reverse. 7. Press the top of the DISC+ switch to skip forward to the next disc. Press the lower part of the switch DISC— to skip backwards to previ- ous discs. • • • DVD Player Two Rockwell Collins 866-0027 DVD/Video CD/CD dual players are installed in the credenza. They can be operated by controls at the DVD or by using the touch screen remote control units. NOTE: Each dualplayer has two disc slots. The top DVD unit is DVD I (upper slot) and DVD 2 (lower slot). The bottom DVD unit is DVD 3 (upper slot) and DVD 4 (lower slot). To Operate the DVDNideo CD/CD Dual Player I. Insert a disc. The DISC I or DISC 2 indicator will illuminate to show which drive is in use. 2. Press SEL if necessary to select the other available DVD. 3. Press PLAY ► to begin playback. Page 14 March, 2008 EFTA00803086 S/N 5173 G450 Cabin Operating Manual Entertainment 4. Use the NAV arrow buttons to navigate forward and backward through the CD tracks or the DVD menus. Press the center button to select a highlighted menu item. 5. Press PAUSE II to pause playback, press PLAY ► to resume. 6. Press the STOP • button to stop playback, press PLAY ► to re- sume. 7. While in PLAY mode, press RW I44 to skip back to a previous track or segment. press and hold to start fast Toward play. 8. While in PLAY mode, press FW ►N to skip forward to another track or DVD segment. press and hold to start fast reverse play. 9. The RW and FW buttons are dual functional. The action depends on the play state of the unit. If unit is paused, press once to forward/ reverse by a single frame or press and hold to play fonvard/reverse in slow mode. Continued single press of the button will increase or decrease the slow play rate. 10. Press EJECT to eject the disc. • • • External Cameras External cameras provide a color image to the cabin monitors from one ofthree external cameras. When enabled, the cameras can be selected for viewing at the cabin switch panels and the touch screen remote control units. The views are as follows: • Looking forward from the aircraft belly — FWD CAM • Looking afl from the aircraft belly — AFT CAM Looking down and forward from the top of the vertical stabilizer -TOP CAM To Change Camera View I.
