I don't know if this helps you, but I would like to give you some facts than you can better understand the initial dynamics. Regarding Bainco, our first meeting with them was because Noam asked them to give me the information about all the investments he has there, as he wanted me (his wife) to be able to follow up with them. Sam Bain first phrase was that Noam expenses had gone so high that they were very concerned. And he kept talking about this the whole meeting without providing any information that Noam had requested. I told him that I would like transparency and that I had noticed that their reports had changed the criteria on the rubrics of expenses, condensing all of them under "Personal Expenses" that before were separated as "Health", "Rent" (to Wellfleet), "Professional", "Travels", (that some were actually being reimbursed by the organizers, but the reimbursements were not being accounted by Bainco) increasing immensely all our so-called "personal expenses". Sam answered that it doesn't matter the name the expenses have, but the total that Noam was spending. I argued that it was misleading, giving the impression that our "personal expenses" had gone immensely higher in comparison with previous years. He ignored. In the sequence, Sam turned to me and said these words: "Valeria, I don't want to scare you to death, but I want you to know that there is a law in the United States, called PATRIOT Act, that strictly controls money that foreigners send abroad" I told him that I knew about the PATRIOT Act and asked him why would this "scare me to death". He didn't answer. And his behavior towards me was always adversarial. And an ironic note is that, even the Christmas cards would come handwritten only in Noam's name, so I was not even considered Noam's wife, but now my name has to be included in a release and I have to sign it. Regarding the wrong investments, actually Gene Landy who has been representing us in the copyright issues had a very strong conversation with us and Deborah, in their office, that there was wrongdoing from Bainco, and that he (Gene) had had a meeting with the partners of the law firm and there was a serious disagreement between him and the others (that I suppose was only Deborah) for conflict of interests. Gene urged Noam to get another law firm to do start a lawsuit. Gene even talked to some colleagues trying to find someone. Deborah during all the meeting strongly discourage Noam from starting any claims against Bainco with any other lawyer, because it would be too stressful (!!!) and not worth. Gene pointed out that if Bainco would be brought to court, they would have to pay twice the amount they lost. Deborah was interrupting and increasingly discouraging Noam, to the point that Gene interrupted her and asked to be able to continue what he was saying. Deborah, as our lawyer had the obligation not only to be on top of this, but to start the procedures that YOU were the one to do. She didn't. And if there was a conflict of interest, she could not represent us anymore, at all, and she should have renounced as our lawyer. That would be the ethical behavior. In 2014, Noam finished a book "Who Rules the World" and decided to put the copyrights and royalties under my name. As soon as Noam announced this to his literary agent Anthony Amove and to Max, Harry came from California to spend some EFTA00866074 days with us in the Cambridge apartment. I thought it was a cordial visit and totally unrelated to the issue of the book. But in the evening before the morning he was to leave, he said that he had some issues to discuss with us. I wondered why he had waited to the last moment to bring some discussion up. But as soon as he started, I realized it was because it would be an unpleasant one. He told Noam that he had heard that Noam was planning to put his new book (Who Rules the World) in my name and sharply asked Noam, if Noam was aware that putting the copyright and royalties in my name would prevent he and his sisters to receive the revenue stream from the book. Noam calmly answered that he was fully aware of that and the same way he had put many other books in their names (the children), he wanted to put that one in my name. Harry was noticeable angry and urged Noam to NOT sign any documents that "could be given to him" without the approval of his lawyer. Max. Noam replied that he wouldn't need Max's approval to sign any documents But I replied that I agreed that Noam shouldn't sign any documents without consulting with Max, since Max was Noam's lawyer (also we did not know that Max was compromised), so I said that Noam shouldn't sign any document without the knowledge of his lawyer (and I added) and without the knowledge of his wife. Result: The book was the longest one to be published. The contract would never come to be signed and all kinds of delays happened to this book. I decided to consult a copyright lawyer. And I was referred to Gene Landy. And he was able to correct the many insistences of Max to make the copyright and royalties looking like what Noam had requested, but not really. In the process to have this book in my name, Gene noticed many maneuvers that took place and urged me to have a estate planning lawyer representing me. He recommended Deborah from his office and I think Gene sincerely believed that Deborah would do a good job. In our first meeting Deborah told me about her fathers case. That her father remarried and the woman wanted to take all his money, but that she and her sister realized that and proved that to their father and her father decided to divorced. I told I was sorry to hear what had happened to her father, but that I would hope that she would not be influenced by what happened to her father in my case. She assured me that definitely not, on the opposite, she would know how to deal with the children because she had been in the other side. This proved totally false. From the very beginning, every meeting with Noam, Deborah would bring her father's case like trying to alert Noam. Then she started representing both of us and now she is also the executor for Noam and has a power of attorney that gives her power to make lots of decisions that we think should be rescinded as soon as possible.
