Subject Re: lunch and movie
It was one of the first films of his that I thought captured people who weren't effete
pseudointellectuals.. and captured them reasonably well.. I also liked Cate Blanchette.. I also
found the flashbacks with her life with what's his name were painful for me to watch.. brought
back various memories that were unpleasant.
the part I found that I squirmed through was the "oh too perfect' new man, and how it was just
clear that he was everything she needed but wouldn't have..

It was great to see you..really.. was talking to Nancy about it and we had a bunch
of smiles as I recounted our lunch.
I actually liked Woody's movie.. a few overly melodramatic moments, but
otherwise I found it totally different than his other movies, and difficult to watch,
which meant I had to think.. Of course I would still like to see Bananas2
