Where are you?
i am in Jamaica but flying to Boston tomorrow for three days with Harvard's David Haig, then three days in New
Jersey to attend to things, then Myrtle Beach for a possible psychosexual experience and then maybe Sunday
with the family of Lennon Lacy, the 17 year old lynched in nearby Blandenburg, NC, then back home
Four pieces of news
I —learned over phone from Vernon Smith, 92, one of greatest economists alive, who is Chapman's top full-time
scholar (see below) that
Struppa told him the week after the fiasco that Chapman had been about to offer me a 5-year contract—
exactly as i expected, that the combination of my fame and quality and your strong support would generate a
very positive response-if full-time, worth —1.5 million $, if part or half time, scaled down appropriately
and position would come, as Vemon's had, with a University owned house within three blocks-similar to where
i stayed on each visit, Vernon leases it for $1200/month, i had found out before the fiasco—in short for a trivial
$14,500/year i could have a full-time, high quality residence—even if occupied by me for less than four
months/a year (full time employment)
several days after i was driven out, Struppa had sent him his letter to me and mine to him—which Vernon
already had from me—BUT NEVER A COMMENT AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS !!
so why did Struppa bother?—my guess is that Struppa wanted to stay on the good side of Vernon because, in
Struppa's words to me, Vernon was THE top faculty member at Chapman (Nobel Memorial Laureate in
Economics and second only to me in world-wide fame, including citation index and INTELLECTUAL
QUALITY
2—Gordon Getty sent me yesterday—exactly two weeks after he promised to do so in two weeks time—during
breakfast at the NY Palace Hotel—the names of two top San Francisco law firms specialising in threatening to
sue for damages inflicted—or otherwise a suit would be filed that would shame Chapman throughout the world
he ranked the two, told me who recommended the first and that i could cite that person's name, then told me the
key lawyer was out of town until next week and what his phone number was—Gordon had agreed with me that i
should try to jack Chapman for at least 1/2 million S—after i told him that i had been able to jack slightly more
than $400,000 from Rutgers for its misbehaviour—mostly two years of salary while a "Research Professor", i.e.
nowhere near Rutgers, but also $154,000 to me personally—plus my lawyer's fees
the key, my Rutgers lawyer told me, is that the press loves stories about public legal conflict between a famous
person and an institution trying to f... him (or her)—hence the story will immediately go viral—she told me
EFTA00816165
similar negotiations with several other tenured professors had gotten them way less than i got
i also have the resources to give the Chapman additional shame far-and-wide, e.g. my recent invitation to spend
3 weeks in China giving 10 lectures at five Universities and Research Centres there—never mind, Oxford, U of
Zagreb, WIKO in Berlin ad nauseam
3—Gordon asked me at one point whether you were the same Jeffrey accused of relations with minors; i said
"yes" and he said, "well, we ALL have similar kinds of problems"—I had stayed one night at his home in SF, at
his invitation of course, but with the stipulation that i leave by 10am because at noon he was going to unite, for
the first time, his two families—one public, one private—his wife Ann and their 4 sons in San Francisco—all of
whom i knew well—an unmarried un-named woman and their 3 daughters in LA. His sons never knew he had 3
daughters and they knew he had 4 sons but had never met them, or Ann—first time i heard too
i mentioned that i understood Ann had known for a couple of years, he said, "many more than that"—and that a
few people at the upper end of SF society knew but kept quiet
i said that i thought you had acted with integrity, both in the protection the young women received from you and
your woman friend whom i knew well, having met her through you several times, that most were not in fact
under age of consent (17), almost always massages, you had served your time for the crime and then, if i have
this correct, paid several additional young women circa a million a piece—not to silence them but rather to
minimise any harm caused by the publicity—i also mentioned your regret that you brought in Derschoswein with
his aggressive tactic—private investigator etc instead of using a local lawyer to talk calm sense with the DA, at
which point you probably would not have received any time at all
he is a very forgiving and wise man and i could tell you some funny stories concerning him and my
psychosexual needs—e.g. the night —11:00pm, leaving his home at 2880 Broadway, when he gave the key to his
home and said, "I know you are going to Oakland right now [instead of straight home] and after whatever it is
you do there
i do not want you to drive down 580 to Santa Cruz, it is too dangerous, so please drive over the Bay Bridge,
come to my home, open the door and shut it, sleep here in the reception room, toilet here, shower one story
down, food if you need it, two stories down etc"
BTW one time when i left Oakland satiated and drunk but not having visited Gordon, i was indeed arrested on
560 and held for the night at the infamous Oakland jail, Santa Rita, similar to Riker's in rep—Oakland was my
town, a Black Panther for three years, while Huey Newton had served his 6 months for "aggravated assault" at
Santa Rita—he gave a man a good beating, aggravated assault was a felony, hence he was never legally
permitted to carry a piece for the rest of his life
4—Last—and NOT least—i did the accounting early the other day for the 30 grand you kindly gave the BRF in
August 2017; early because the BRF is nearly exhausted in funds since i have not earned anything recently
beyond 30 grand i earned speaking at various locales including Chapman since August
i had taken it for granted that i would get a worthwhile position and that your kind offer of 100 grand would
come into play, so i would have access to 80 grand almost at once—so i could relax (and not trouble you for any
for at least 2 years)
hence i am now asking if you would be kind enough to give the BRF 45 for 18 months, or 30 for 12 months if
you prefer
apologies for the length—i know how busy YOU are
