If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask. I have also attached some information on the Media filter, Boost pump and the Water Maker. I have quoted the LX series with media fitration, touch screen, and all automatic. Richard I did a test of the old cistern. It appears to be in good shape but the test of the water came back showing some Total Dissolve Solids (TDS) in the water. Total dissolved solids (TDS) is just what it says, the sum of all solids dissolved in the water. The constituents that make up TDS are varied and, for the most part, remain unknown as we simply measure the gross sum of these metals, minerals and salts. Calcium and sodium compounds dominate, while magnesium and dozens of other solubles can be founds therein. In freshly filled cisterns, the most common dissolved solid is calcium in some form, usually a salt or ion. As water "ages", however, the story changes. Often confused, incidentally, suspended solids (turbulence, color ) are not measured as part of TDS. Only actually dissolved materials are measured. They remain completely invisible, as they are truly a part of the liquid. The suspended solids I saw was just dirt. The cistern is only about 6 inches deep presently so I would suggest pumping the rest out and using bleach to clean the cistern, flush is out and then you will have a cleaned and sanitized cistern.
