Greetings Rich,
Per Carlos, Lady G is not in top condition, but she was operable when he put her into
drydock last year at Nanny Cay. The engine room is not in top condition and there
is some wear and tear on her insulation.
He has only had one opportunity (around December 2012) to get back to Nanny Cay to
check on Lady G, and the engine room was dry at the time. He checked
everywhere and plugged in the boat to charge the batteries.
Carlos has been trying for the last several weeks to get a day off from LSJ to go back to
remove his personal tools, do a final check of all her compartments, and check her
batteries, as he knew a sale was imminent.
Instead, he has been working 7 day weeks for January 2013, running the barge, clearing
cargo, shopping on STT, as well as his regular captain and maintenance schedule.
He is out on medical leave beginning tomorrow. Mandatory rest is two weeks. After that
time he plans to go over to Nanny Cay to check on Lady G, and speak with the
managmcnt regarding LSJ upcoming Hurricane storage requirements.

In the meanwhile, Carlos has a captain friend, Ramon, who, as a favor to Carlos while he
is recovering, is willing to take Carlos' boat (Calypso) to Nanny Cay to pump out
the water (Carlos says the water in the engine room really needs to be addressed
ASAP) and Ramon would also make sure that the batteries are in fact on the
charger.
Carlos would just request that we reimburse the fuel and the BVI customs fees that would
be incurred.
Carlos trusts Ramon to take care of this matter the way Carlos himself would do it.
Otherwise, LSJ would have to hire someone (BVI or STT), but Carlos has no
recommendations for who that person could be.
Please advise, DW

the condition or damage was pre existing to storage
unfortunately the day Bobby Hodge view the engine compartment it had rained
heavily the night before
Carlos has been periodically checking the boat/bilge etc
when Carlos gets back I will have him go to Tortola and check vessel again

I understand that Lady G has been damaged while in storage.
Who is responsible for this?
Do we have recourse?
Please advise
