For your Organic Garden I have had several conversations with Jasper Templeton & Nom Chapman in St.
Thomas who are active in the organic gardening business. I believe we could develop a very productive &
attractive garden in the existing terraced nursery area. I think the best solution would be to:
1. Remove the existing metal nursery table stands and then enclose those areas with 18" - 24" stone walls so that
we could create adequate soil garden plots with drainage holes.
2. Backfill the planters with a layer of crushed stone for drainage, a filter fabric and then backfill with a good
organic plant mix. They recommend a mix consisting of Promix Soil & Happy Frog Organic Soil. This mix is
very rich and totally organic.
3. Install a drip irrigation system which saves water and is concentrated on each plant.
4. Jasper & Nora would write a maintenance schedule for us and would be available to come out to give
instructions to our maintenance staff.
5. We would have to designate one of our maintenance people to take charge and be responsible for the
maintenance or we could hire someone for that purpose. It should be someone who is passionate and focused.
6. Let me know what you think and exactly what type of vegetables you are interested in.
Main House Landscaping & Courtyard Design
I have reviewed Gensler's plans for the Main House landscaping and I wanted to review their design with you. I
have also developed conceptual landscape plans for the Phase One area around the new master bedroom &
laundry and I wanted to review it with you some time next week. I think it's better if I come to your office to
review the design in detail. I can send plans earlier next week for your review before I come.
We could also review the Hammam Site Plan and the Paving Design.
What would be a good time to come to your office?
