Jeffrey
attached is Gulfstream proposal for Radar upgrade and SATphone with world wide Wifi.
-880 Radar upgrade $130,047 which includes a $50k trade-In of current 870 Radar.
-SatPhone / Will upgrade to G650 current production and fastest intemet worldwide.
We have to make sure the SATPhone is capable of Dual Data line transfer for FANS1A CPDLC compliance by 2020. Our
current Irridium SATphone is not CPDLC capable. the Satphone Gulfstream recommended is CPDLC approved.
-1 $401,626 Standalone Satphone w/ WiFi worldwide. MCS7120 SATPHONE
-2 $126,972 we require New Vertical stabilizer Radome to house the SATAntenna. its similar to a Dog house style blister
mounted on vertical stabilizer.
-3 $15,000 Global VT service for router
-4 $23,651 install Aircell interface Unit, voice calls.
-5 $30,000 interior removal
----------------
$597,249.00 total package Satphone wAiVifi on current production G650.
Notes:
Jeffrey,
Clay Lacy and Universal Avionics have an approved CPDLC plan which replaces one of our Honeywell FMS and with a
Universal FMS with CPDLS capability, its certainly deviates from the Factory cockpit and standard GIV Triple Honeywell
FMS's we currently have installed, plus my 3rd FMS is a whats called a HOT spare if case one FMS fails, and Dual FMS is
required for North Atlantic RVSM airspace, I'm not particually fond of installing a Universal FMS stand alone in the GIV. but its
an option as well.
I trust our Radar, it does a nice job, I'm sure the 880 upgrade gives more accurate range and Rain intensity, compared to our
1988 Radar 870. The 880 is the latest radar for Gulfstream current.
Wifi and Satphone upgrade to CPDLC and Fans1A upgrade could wait a year or two, however, Gulfstream indicates price will
increase and demand will grow.
depending if you upgrade to a GV or G550 In the next 12 months, I'd prefer to hold on Radar and Satphone upgrade, unless
you feel our GIV is hear to stay.
what do you think?
thank you
Larry
