Chief Public Information Officer U.S. Attorne 's Office SDNY (office) cell) Begin forwarded message: From: Stephen Wright Date: December 1, 2020 at 2:20:24 PM EST To: Subject: private inquiry from Daily Mail in London re Prince Andrew Dear , I am Associate News Editor of the Daily Mail newspaper in London and have been reporting on the Jeffrey Epstein scandal for nearly ten years. During this time, I have visited the US three times to investigate the case. I wish to ask some important questions about the DoJ's on-going investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged co-conspirators, and its stated desired to speak to Prince Andrew in connection with it. Further to the public pronouncements made by (DoJ) officials this year, could you please tell me: EFTA00093465 1. If the DoJ has reached agreement with Prince Andrew's legal team over the terms of taking testimony from him? 2. If not, is there still a dispute over the terms of how he is interviewed? 3. If the DoJ wishes to speak Prince Andrew as a 'witness' or a 'subject' in the investigation? 4. If the DoJ wishes to speak to Prince Andrew in the US or UK? 5. How the DoJ responds to claims by Prince's Andrew's supporters earlier this year that US prosecutors have made misleading public statements about his alleged refusal to cooperate with investigators. 6. If the DoJ has obtained the original — rather than a copy — of the widely publicised picture purporting to show Prince Andrew with his arm around the waist of alleged sex trafficking victim (17) in London in March 2001. Please provide answers to these questions within the next 24 hours.
