Good Afternoon
I have little to add to explanation of events of GSJ today, other than to fill in the time when Mike
returned to the beach. I did ask if they have any paperwork for the stop work and was informed this was verbal
and was to be followed. A couple of times I mentioned that my understanding was that they were to remain on
the beach line, they made it very clear that they could go wherever they please. Kyle and I where ahead of the
group at this point, after reaching the top of the hill they past us, taking photos and videos of the area as noting in
the videos that I will forward. I was asked a question about the sand on top of the hill, my explanation is on the
video. They continued making a left turn towards the Q Hut and Staff Cottage, they did not enter any of these
buildings, but did take photos and videos.
They did not ask one question while at this area, then continued down the road to the beach and as mentioned by
Mike noticed intake pump housing etc
Before leaving they reconfirmed that no work was to continue until someone came to their office and received a
permit.
I will forward the video's,which sorry to say will need to come in small batches, they were taken on my phone, a
little broken up as I received a number of calls over this time period
If you require any further information please let me know
Warmest regards
Karen

On 12-20-18 DPNR arrived on GSJ just after 12:00 noon and proceeded to dock their boat and 4 members of
the party walked across the beach to the tiki area with another staying on the boat.
Karen, Kyle and myself arrived just after 12:30 and introduced ourselves.
The DPNR people asked about permits for the work going on at the beach and if there was any other work
under way elsewhere on the island.
They then told us that they did not need any written orders to both instruct us to cease and desist any and all
construction or to allow them to access any portion of the island they chose to go to.
At that point they started walking west down the beach and stopped at the equipment parking area at the far
west end of the beach and took pictures of the area and likely the excavated hole for the new septic treatment
plant and the tanks sitting next to the hole.
Then they headed along the road leading to the dump/dumpster area and took photos of the newly excavated
trash pit and the freshly scrapped area with the boat trailers and water wagons parked there.
At that point they walked down to the Christmas Cove barge ramp area and took photos of that area.
After walking back up to the dump area they chose to walk up the road that climbs the hill behind the old ruins
building and leads to the Q Hut and staff cottage.
I did not follow them at that point as Kyle and Karen were ahead of them in a cart. I walked back to the beach
until they got back down there.
As they were walking back to the tiki from the east end of the beach they took notice of the intake pump
housing for the desal unit and also the freshly laid sand over the area that had previously been grass.
Karen asked to see the lead person's ID and was asked to show hers also.
As they were getting back onto their boat one of the officers boarded the Zodiac and took pictures of the
registration sticker.
After that they all boarded and left the island.
