I'm kept informed about your discussions with my wife Khadiga and she is full of appreciation, as we all are, to what you are trying and attempting to do. We are still as I write this, and for more than two months now under detention my brother and myself in jail in Cairo. My father himself is still detained in hospital in Sharm El Sheikh, in relatively poor health and under enormous physiological pressure. We have been, as am sure you know already referred the three of us on the most outrageous politically motivated charges to court. Our first court hearing is ser for August Yd. Our detention, our investigations and even our charging and referral to court has all been driven by mob pressure. The authorities over here, to continue their policy of appeasing the mobs, have made a decision weeks ago to refer the three of us to court. The rest was all mere details. I could tell first hand from my investigation sessions that they were out there on a witch hunt determined to frame us on any loopholes possible. They used state media to twist facts, leak misguided information about supposedly confidential investigations with us, smear us and eventually succeed in a process of character assassination of us all even including my mother. However Terje my brother and myself are keeping high spirits and our faith in God is stronger than ever. I want you to tell our friends out there that we will continue to fight. The most painful part of this ordeal so far for both me and my brother has been being away from our parents and specially my father. This is the time in our lives where they, and specially he needs us the most next to him and they drove us apart. Yet we are depending on both our wives, who are in Sharm together with my one year old daughter and my brother's 11 year old son to give them support and lift their spirits. On the legal front we are working closely with our legal counsel to prepare for the court case. I still cant believe how they had clear conscience to charge us such outrageous charges including the one for my father on EFTA00913183 collaborating to kill protestors, a charge that carries the death penalty. I am aware of your efforts to recommend for us some international criminal lawyers to either join our defense team or act as observers. I am currently discussing with my lawyer the best way forward to make use of such resource in a way that can help our case domestically and internationally. I am not convinced, given the circumstances we are facing, that this will be a fair trial. But we will continue to prepare our legal case to expose the utter unfairness and injustice we are facing.
