Because of my strong interest in Art History I would like to attend New York University,
where I feel the dynamic Art History Department would be a great fit for me. Coming from
an international background, and having lived in four different countries at the age of
eighteen, I also believe that the international dimensions of NYU will provide the best
environment for my college years.
What makes NYU's Art History department stand out to me is it's extremely wide range of
courses in global art from antiquity to the present. Covering art history from multiple corners
of the world. My favourite subject matter within Art History is Italian Renaissance art and the
rich history behind it. Especially masters of the 15th century ranging from Massacio to
Bellini. Therefore, NYU's courses such as Early masters of Italian Renaissance painting and
Florentine Villas: An Interpretation Based on Historical, Social Factors would be an excellent
match for my enthusiasm within these subjects. What draws me in, is not only the visual
aesthetics and analysis of these masterpieces, but also how these artworks and the renaissance
as a whole has enormous emphasis on scientific innovation, political, historic, and economic
factors which brings me to my interest in the Global Liberal Arts programme. Therefore,
NYU's unique campus in Florence would give me a once in lifetime opportunity to spend a
year in Florence immersing myself in the art, culture and history of Italy that is compelling
and personal to me, while simultaneously working towards a bachelor degree in Art History.
NYU's emphasis on international courses, campuses and students is another reason that I
think NYU would be an appropriate place for me based on my international background
having lived and studied in Oslo, Tel Aviv, New York and London. NYU could potentially
allow me to not only further my international dimensions by studying in Florence but also
open opportunities to explore Asia and the Middle East through its campuses in Shanghai and
Abu-Dhabi.
Lastly, the opportunity to study in New York City returning to the place where I've spent
most of my Childhood and where my mother will be posted as Ambassador to the
UN in January 2019 is a very exciting possibility for me.

Taking advantage of being based in central London for the past year I've completed the
Chairmans Programme at Christies, work experience at Courtauld Gallery and I will be
Maddox in the near future. I want to hopefully utilise being based in New York City the same
way, obtaining experience in the art world and also broaden my knowledge within
contemporary as theres no better place to do that than New York. Finally, I have chosen to
apply to early decision 1 and NYU being the only American university that I will be applying
to I feel as though NYU is the most suitable place for me.
