We have not heard of the terms, "special observation status". The protocols in the SHU are such that every 30 mins a guard is supposed to conduct a round through the cell block to check on the prisoners/cells. This is unrelated to a prisoner's psychological evaluations. Additionally, Epstein was still under psychological review, which meant he was having regular interaction with the MCC psychologist, but was under no special observation. Subject: Draft letter to Congress on Epstein I forwarded this earlier to =, but heard he may be out of pocket ran the substance of this letter by NYFO last night and told me that there were no particular concerns with the substance.
