"Caramazza, Alfonso" Dear Richard and Martin, Thank you for submitting an application for an MBB Faculty Award. The Mind/Brain/Behavior Interfaculty Initiative is pleased to provide you with an award in the amount of $50,000 for your project "Collective action and coalitionary violence in human evolution." Congratulations again on a fine proposal. This faculty research award is intended to support your project between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016. Now that we have aligned these project dates to Harvard's fiscal year, it is especially important that you spend these funds within the stated project time period. You and your department's business office will be responsible for ensuring that this award is used for the specific purposes outlined in your application and budget. Likewise, you and your department's business office will also be responsible for monitoring the expenses associated with this award. The MBB office will journal funds on a quarterly basis as expenses are incurred. We request a brief preliminary report on your research activities by January 15, 2016. A final report will be due no later than September 30, 2016 and should include a financial report summarizing expenditures totaling the award balance or a rationale for any remaining funds in the account. Any papers resulting from this work should cite this MBB grant in the acknowledgment, and we request one hard copy and one PDF copy of any published papers for our archives. The MBB office will contact you to coordinate the transfer of funds. We wish you well with your research activities and look forward to hearing of your group's achievements. Sincerely, Alfonso and Al Alfonso Caramazza & Albert Galaburda MBB Co-Directors Sent by Tom Bernhard on behalf of Alfonso Caramazza, Al Galaburda, and the MBB Faculty Award review committee.
