Subject Zorro update for Feb 14-18
Good morning Mr. Epstein,
Just wanted to give you a quick update as to things here. I emailed last Thursday about having the
second leak fixed and a new valve put into the system.
Also, Chad Dewall accepted your offer of $2500.00 with the hopes of more work. He is
scheduled to stan work on this Friday the 25th and work through the weekend and into next
week to get it done. He has requested for half ($1250.00) down and remainder when he is
finished. This seems reasonable to me, However; I only have one check here on Ranch and am
trying to work with Karen to get a few more sent. Once again, due to the micromanagement and
procedures that Brice and Karen use - I are being held up. Karen has once again informed me that
the check that I have here is for "emergency"only. I have not followed her procedure or used her
form to get the bid approved. I went straight to you for approval.
After 2 weeks of back and forth to the Verizon store, (with Bella's help) to get password
information on the account, Mano and I were able to get updated phones for communication.
The integrity of all water lines and valves going to the reservoir seem to be holding pressure. We
are not loosing any water in the system. I have asked Mano to monitor the reservoir and keep it
full. He has some work to do on the atmospheric valve that was compromised during the cold
snap.
I have also asked Mano to research control systems and valves that will monitor and alarm when
there is a leak (and the house is not calling for water) of that magnitude again. I would like to
prevent this from happening to your house. I worked at a water company for 5 years before
coming here and I know there are systems capable of monitoring and shutting water down
automatically.
We are anxiously awaiting your momma cow to give birth and will send pics when she does.
Mano has not purchased his cows yet or one for you because the cattle prices are sky high right
now. I hope you received the email about losing Thunder, one of our guest riding horses. We are
down to 2 guest horses. Also, Max had a severe eye injury that we are doctoring. His eyesight is
coming back in the eye as it heals.
I was called over the weekend to rescue a yearling colt. I have given the colt to Mano here on the
ranch. I hope it is ok with you if he keeps and takes care of the little guy here.(tt would be a good
project for him as he works 24-7 and needs a hobby) If not please let me know.
Lastly, about the proposal that I sent you. I am inquiring about a possible response. I would also
like to ask you if you would be willing to entrust this management position to us say on a trail
basis. I would like to be handed the responsibility (and I speak for Mano) to be given a budget
and the tools needed to conduct business here on the Ranch. I would ask for financial
commitment from you (which is negotiable) If you would like a phone conference please advise.
Hope all is well with you.
