Yes, the rows will run the width of the plane.
There are many synthetic carpets made to look like silk, but they lose their luster when treated for flammability .
I have contacted our European manufacture to see if the European washed nylon is suitable for the plane and expect to
have answers and samples tomorrow
I still think a worsted wool carpet woven loop cut is a very good option. You don't have the shine of silk, but you get all
the other benefits• durability, clean ability and fire proof
I have ordered a sample of the worsted wool, navy blue 100% NZ yarn 450 weight treated for aircraft and a sample of
the selected silk also treated.
I will tell you how long these will take tomorrow.

Dear Jeffrey,
The carpet form Thailand will take 5 weeks. If you could give us 9 weeks, I would like to prepare the following
four samples.
(1) A finished sample showing the effect fiber shield has on the silk (We have done this and found it to be
acceptable, - but fiber shield is only partially effective)
(2) A finished sample showing the effect Stain Sealant has on the silk (Prior tests came out leaving a tacky
residue, but clean ability was substantially improved)
(3) A finished sample with flame retardant in the backing only. (This should suffice, but if tested my come up
short and be rejected by International Jet)
(4) A finished sample with flame retardant in the field. (Will meet all flame tests, but leaves silk somewhat
brittle and you unhappy.)
If given the time to prepare these samples, you will have all the options and be able to make a proper decision.
The cost of the carpet only is $50 861.00. Total yardage is 442s/f or 49.11 square yards
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Yes there is a treatment that protects silk very well, and it is applied after the material is woven. There
is an additional cost for this.
If you can give us 5-6 weeks, the price won't change, but with July 4th coming up I would prefer more
time. Please let me know
I need the original sample back for the dye house to match and would like to get that tomorrow. Please
let me know
Thanking you,
Marc

From Thailand, the Rows run down the length of the plane, (no seams) (I may
be able to get Thailand to manufacture with the seams down the length, cut into 7 equal pieces and factory joined, but
I am concerned that in folding and transporting from Thailand, the seams might open and need to re-done.
From Georgia the rows, are factory seamed to run across the width of the plane
and transported on a flatbed truck
(USA) The cost of the carpet is $69 900.00 FOB Georgia Additional
(THAILAND) The cost of the carpet is $50 861.00 FOB Long Island to installer
additional.
The product is 100% silk, treated for Flame protection with fire proof Latex
Material
The sample selected was woven in Thailand, and no further samples for
approval are necessary.
