Hello
It sounds like there are additional fees attached such as the student health services fee ($352), the university
services fee (usually $135) and perhaps a few others. Look at your invoice closely which you can access in III
If you have questions, you will want to consult student accounts -
It does sound high to me and I'm wondering if you are being assessed the university student health insurance
charge for Spring. Do you typically take university health insurance? That is approximately $1780 or so for
Spring and, when combined with your 1 credit tuition and the fees above, would total approximately the amount
you reference.
Best,
Dechen

Hi Dechen,
Hope this note finds you well, thank you so much for the invitation, very sweet of you. I would have loved to
attend but unfortunately, I work on Fridays...
Dechen,
I have a question yesterday I received an invoice about next semester payment, it says $3,756 so I was
wondering if this a total for one credit course I registered? To be honest, I've expected the amount to be
lower...Thanks in advance of your assistance.

"LIFE AND DEBT"
Friday, December 9th - 12:00 to 2:00pm
Join us this Friday for the kickoff to the Spring semester Environmental Studies film series featuring "Life and Debt," an award-
winning film narrated by the incomparable and award-winning author Jamaica Kincaid: httplAvwwlifeanddebt.org

In a series of amazingly shot segments, filmmaker Stephanie Black takes the viewer inside the Jamaican economy, to
examine the circumstances of the textile, banana, milk, potato and poultry industries. The inside look exposes Kingston's
'Free Economic Zones", where workers sew clothes for American corporations like Tommy Hilfiger and Brooks Brothers for
$5 a day on large swaths of "nationless" land ringed by barbed wire. The film earned raves from critics, for it achieves the
near impossible: It turns the stale subject of structural adjustment policies and debates about export markets and free trade
into a riveting narrative about race, space and the environment. Black does not shape her film around droning talking
heads. Rather "Life and Debt" is told as a journey. The "eye" of the film is a typical American -- a person much like Black,
who comes to Jamaica as a tourist and at first sees only swaying palm trees and natives splashing in warm turquoise
water. This film follows up Black's "H2-Worker," a 1990 documentary about Caribbean sugar cane laborers in Florida.
Free lunch provided.
