Epstein, Thank you for your time to finally sit down and discuss my salary and benefit fund structure. After our meeting on Friday I feel there are a few key points that you left out in your summary. First thing after 15 years you told me that you are totally unaware of what my salary currently was, how much I make and what I am being compensated for towards my retirement. You also stated that nobody else in the company, including the office, has no sort of retirement compensation and that I was the only one who did. We discussed that over the past 6 years that I have had no cost of living increase and that being in the union with at least a 3% per year that my salary would have increased at least 18% from 2005 to 2011. I also stated that my son who is a second year union employee has earned more money than I have this year because of his overtime structure and I receive a flat salary for all my services at NES L1C. To be accurate on his salary I am providing a copy of his 12/23/10 salary statement which indicates he has already earned $102,876.06. His base salary at $32.692/hr at an annually base salary of $67,999.36. When you ask me how much his funds receive for the year I told you around $60,000.00, to not be misleading I checked his benefit package for pension and annuity which is currently $14.00 per hour, which just for a straight 40 hours per week is $29,120.00per year after doing the calculation with his overtime hours he is around $46,000.00 to $48,000.00. So I stand corrected on his compensation of around 60k. I was misinformed when I asked my son how much he had In his funds for the year and his response was that it was close to $60,000.00. this statement was for his annuity fund only, for 21 months of service excluding his pension. We discussed that after me being a licensed Chief engineer going on my 34th year and my son making more or as much as me that something was wrong and that my salary should be increased you asked me what was thought was fair my response was $125,000 per year taking in account the cost of living raise i have not received since 2005.So at that time you informed me you were sending Rich Kahn an e -mail Increasing my current salary to $125,000 per year. We also discussed replacing my position with various service contracts and building personnel at 9 East71st street and what I would take to accomplish this and what was best for 9 east 71 street ,We also agreed that the building systems all need an up grade and that we are currently in the process of trying to accomplish this with Source One and AD Winston & Siemens and leonard powers steam.I agreed to help you with all the up grades and the Transsion of phaseing my position out at 9 east 71 street you stated which at that time may take several months and I also agreed to stay on as a consultant as long as you wish after my departure from my current position.I feel at this point we need to meet whith Darren & Rich Kahn to discuss our agreement in full detail Salery,Medical coverage,compensation .Mechanical systems off site monitoring security Fire Systems of 9 east 71st during this transsion peroid and in the future.I feel after 15 years there is alot to go over.Thank you Richard Bamett, Date: Sat, 1 Jan 2011 17:25:55 -0500 Subject: From: 'eevacation mail.com To: • CC: Rich Barnett and I had a meeting on fri, He suggested that as his son now makes more than he does. that he would like to re-think his position, He suggested that for the first ten years he had lost approx 300k in retirement , as he was not part of the union„ his son this year alone he said receeved a contribution of 60k towards retirement. His son , whose salary is approx 60k per year was able to earn overtime , which rich currently cannot. We dedded to engage an outside maintencnae contractor, siemens donenely, ad winston, etc, to replace rich, and have a full time maintence man /porter to do the heavy house work.
