Dear Richard,
Ann advised me to take the pictures on my phone, because is so much easier to send them out. Unfortunately,
when I loaded them, the green light came on. I did not know why. I had to ask Bart to help me. We had to do
this two at the time, because there was a limit on how many pictures you can send from the phone. This
weekend, I will work on better photographic transmission because the camera and the phone pictures are not
describing reality well. I will go this Sunday to St. Thomas and try to buy filters. Definitely, I will work on
these transmissions, so Mr. Epstein can witness progress better. I know what he wants now and if
I knew this when I came here for the first time this project would be finished by now. I feel sort of guilty, not
communicating and extending this work for so long. It may turn out, that I will be the best tool in restoration
for him yet.
There is another factor in this work, it is the drying time. Many times I will develop a nice finish, but than
when is completely dry changes the color to lighter. So be patient with me for a little while yet. I worked on it
only 20 hours.
The way I want to work this Library this time is establishing the harmonious over all color and feel, and than
work the details. I want this Library to look the best it can be. Please, give me another 16-20 hours and you will
start to see good results. This is large space and it will take a lot of work. I am working as hard as possible.
Before I went to NY for two days ( the plane had a problem, the fuel pump did not work, so we arrived in NY
Sunday at 6:30 pm), I covered the "bald" columns with white-wash. I toned them down now and they are ready
to apply the finish. I sent you the pictures of the molding what was an existing finish, which is not acceptable. I
will work on the molding today, as I also had to apply the white wash to have a new start. Also, I will be more
descriptive from now on, so I will be sending the pictures and comments on them.
Today I will re-send the pictures again and will follow with new ones.
Kindly,
Brandon

right steps. I know, what he wants now. The treatment has to be creative, with spontaneous accents, fresh and
unstructured.
