Good Day Boss,
Attached is a quote for $40,515.82 from Osbee for the purchase and installation of the new projector.
The new model is guaranteed to be quieter, have a brighter picture, and true HDMI 1080P ports (the existing model
needed a HDMI to DVI adaptor to work).
The second option is uninstalling the existing projector and sending it to them. Osbee is reluctant to give us a quote until
they have the unit in house. This is because they cannot provide a true material and labor cost, it may be simple fix as in a
projection module, or more complex fix if the logic board needs replacing, which would require returning it to the
manufacturer.
Below are my perceived Pros and Cons on both options:
• Pros for the upgraded model
o Brighter picture
o Quieter
o Quicker startup time
o Your personal down time: limited to Osbee flying down and installing the new projector (2 to 3 weeks from
start to finish)
• Cons for the upgraded model
o The price
• Pros for fixing the existing unit
o It may be a cheaper fix
• Cons for fixing the existing unit
o Retro fitting the bookcase for quieter running
o Your personal down time: involves shipping unit to Osbee; the time it takes to repair; and for them shipping
it back down. (Best guestimate is 4 to 6 weeks)
Please advise.
Respectfully submitted,
JRuan
