Subject• Damaged Statue
Good Day,
I was asked to send you an email to give an account of what happened, regarding the damage to the statue.
As you know, you requested that the two statues be moved from the western point, to the flat seating area
by the Nursery. So as we have done with every other item on the list, we set out to achieve that task.
It was Peter St. Omar operating the LULL, while myself, (Igala Joseph) and another member of the
landscape crew were on the ground securing the statue with straps, and helping to steady it while in
transport, and also while lowering it to it's new position.
Eveything went smooth with the first statue, we got it placed with no problem. However when we went to
place the second one, just before it touched ground, the statue slipped and it hit the ground way harder than
intended, causing it to crack.
After examining the damage, it became apparrent that the statue had been repaired before, and this has
since been confirmed aswell, that the statue has in fact had to be repaired/ glued before.
This was a complete accident.
In retrospect there is a few things we could have done to better insure this would have not have happened,
however this accident was in no way the result of negligence.
I also believe the statues had become considerably more "brittle" due to the intense exposure to the sun for
as long as they were at the point, making them more prone to damage.
We were trying our best to carry out your instructions, when this occurred, for which I apologize for my
own part and the part of my crew members in this accident.
Please know that the statue has been glucd/rcpaircd, and we would like to reccomend for Ion to touch it up,
when he has time.

I hope this message clarifies any questions you may have regarding this unfortuate issue.
Sincerely,
!gala Joseph
