Indeed if I am interested in simply covering my ass and leaving alive with my tail between my legs, this may be the best approach. But it is equally true that many many many of the people vocalizing support have all said that while most of the story is hearsay allegations, and none in any case involve sexual harassment, they are also saying that Lawrence Krauss has not had a chance, yet, to defend himself. And exactly what I do in the future will depend on this.. I expect you will say that this is true, but you will argue that my future will be better off if I do nothing.. but I cannot see not responding and I believe, based on what we are seeing, that waiting much longer is strategically wrong. Finally.. (5).. and wait for it.. because this is going to make you really want to yell at me, if we want to further silence Buzzfeed following up this, and maybe others as well, we may need to initiate a lawsuit (and against Gizmodo in australia, where basically anyone can sue and win). So.. I am not acting rashly.. I am initiating this discussion with you. Thinking rationally and calmly about exactly how to navigate this tightrope.. So.. we can have a conversation later.
