Dear..
I would like to thank you very much for the remarkable support you showed to the Origins Program
during its 10 year history at ASU. What we were able to achieve, in education, research, and public
outreach was unprecedented in any University around the world, and we were only able to achieve the
international stature that Origins eventually received because of your help. As you may have heard, the
University terminated the Origins Program this year, and I will be retiring from ASU at the end of this
academic year, when I turn 65. I hope to carry on the mission of Origins as I move beyond ASU, and
ASU has kindly agreed that those donors who wish to may request the ASU Foundation to transfer their
unexpended funds to other Projects. I am in the process of creating a new non-profit foundation, called
the New Origins Project, which will hopefully run exciting new programs in Phoenix, and elsewhere, as
well as explore new media partnerships in order to reach an even broader cross-section of the public than
the Origins Project did at ASU. I am hoping that you might be willing to help continue the Origins
mission by requesting that the ASU Foundation transfer your unexpended funds to our new program. I
will be contacting you in the coming weeks with more information on the specifics of the new non-profit,
and will also provide you with contact information for the Foundation to request a funds transfer. Of
EFTA01019603
course, you are free to leave your donation in the ASU Foundation, where it will undoubtedly be used to
support other useful programs at the University.
Thanks for considering this.
