Some sample cross-examination questions for a variety of possible witnesses that have come to mind.
Questions for Erin Ellison
1. Why did you tell Dr. Krauss that you did not go fishing? That you did not attempt to contact parties asking for
allegations but only responded to those who contact you?
-contradicted in letter to BuzzFeed from Jan 2018
2. You indicated Ms. Rad contacted you with video. Can you provide evidence of this?
3. You have indicated that if complainant refuses to talk to you that you do not consider the complaint
substantiated. Several examples where no information could be obtained are dismissed. Is it not the case that
Ms. Rad refused to talk to you? Why did you not dismiss this complaint?
4. Does Ms. Rad have a financial incentive to create false testimony?
5. Did she say she was motivated to make her video because she was upset that Dr. Krauss did not admit to other
instances reported in BuzzFeed, as she claims to have known some of the alleged victims?
6. Did Ms. Rad therefore have additional rationales for creating false testimony?
7. Did you ask Ms. Rad about any of these issues?
8. Were you aware of possible ulterior motives for Dr. Melanie Thomson to make a report against Dr. Krauss
9. Did you ask Ms. Thomson about her false statement regarding a photo showing Dr. Krauss touching
someone's breast?
10. Did you ask Ms. Thomson about the fact that the photo she submitted did not show what she claimed it
showed?
11. Did you ask Ms. Thomson about the claim she made that Dr. Krauss didn't know the person in the photo?
12. Did you ask Ms. Thomson if she had communicated, received advice or guidance, or gave advise or guidance
to anyone else involved in making accusations?
13. Did you ask Ms. Thomson how she knows that the other witness Dr. Michael Marshall, did not actually
witness the encounter?
14. Did you ask Ms. Thomson why she did not report this allegation to the Conference Organizers at the time?

16. Did you ask Ms. Thomson why her testimony disagreed with that of the other participant in the so-called
photobombing selfie?
17. Did you ask Ms. Thomson about her statement "I hate that man" made to the other person in the so-called
photobombing selfie?
18. Why did you send only one of the two photographs regarding the photobombing selfie to Dr. Krauss when
asking him about it? Were you trying to set him up or induce a lie? Were you expecting him to lie?
19. Did you ask Dr. Moon when Lucy Hawking was hired, and whether she was involved in assisting that? Did
you ask her the timeframe associated with that compared to the timeframe during which she remembered a
conversation with Lucy Hawking? Did you ask her whether she was working for ASU when the alleged
conversation took place?
20. Why did you not tell Amelia Huggins when you called her back in for a second interview that she would be
the subject of the interrogation, and not Dr. Krauss?
21. Did anyone provide information to suggest that Amelia and Lawrence shared a bedroom during the Origins
event in Mexico City?
22. Why did you ask this question to Amelia Huggins?
23. Have you ever helped a friend or colleague with any activity outside of the University.
24. Did you have a sexual relationship with that colleague?
25. Why did you ask these questions of Dr. Krauss
26. Did you speak to Jessica Strycker?
27. Did her testimony regarding Dr. Krauss's support of her pregnancies and breastfeeding agree with Michelle
Iwen's?
28. Why did you accept Dr. Iwen's? account
29. Why did you accept the testimony of witnesses as credible when several of their claims were shown to be
false?
30. When assessing accusations do you assume a priori that it is more likely than not that the accuser is telling
the truth? And the accused?
31. Given that in almost every case where Dr. Krauss denied a claim and an accuser made a claim, you decided it
was more likely than not that the claim was valid, including claims by accusers who had been shown to be
making other false claims, does this jive with your answer to the previous question?
32. It is reported that the staff joked Cynthia Schulze should "take one for the team". Was it ever suggested that
Dr. Krauss made this suggestion alone?
