I lived to the age of 50 years old without Noam; having comfort first, through my family and later through my work. I had positions where I was respected, trusted and admired. For the first time in my life, I am being accused of very serious issues and in an inner circle that I should call "family". I don't have to accept this. I don't want to have anything to do with Noam's children. I married him, not them. They seem to believe that things have to be decided by a Committee. This is not a collective marriage. I am not interested in what Noam has given or decides to give to them, but also as spouses we have the right to live and decide our lives without their interference. That's why I want to have our finances completely separated from them. The same way we don't get involved in their lives, they don't have to get involved in ours. This is the goal. I think this suggestion of asking the money for the purchase of our new house, will put us again in the situation of dependency and will tie the house as an asset that was purchased with the money from their mother's trust (as they consider as being their mother's money) and with funds that the children are entitled to receive as the beneficiaries. Therefore the use of any money from the trust would raise questions that the house should come to them, since it was acquired with the money from their mother's trust. Anyone has the right, and it is not different for Noam, to leave a house for his second spouse, but not with the money from the Trusts in the name of Carol and that has their children as the beneficiaries. It would be morally wrong. But besides anyone's right to leave whatever to a second spouse, even more when Noam's spouse will be working in a formal job, besides working with him and contributing to the finances. I take solely responsibility to what is written above as my view of the facts. This doesn't mean that Noam has the same views, of course.
