I did speak to him because he seemed very grounded and sensible.. a good brief interview..no sense of interest in anything but finding out truth about science interactions.. we talked about excitement of scientific meetings..etc.. how everything was 'normal' at all meetings, exciting conversations, blackboards etc.. and how your support and great interest was important in making it happen and making it better and interesting.. he asked if all this noise got in the way of any of the science and I said no.. none of us would know about it or even waste time discussing it if weren't for people like him—he sympathized and we agreed how many more important things there were to worry about, like the importance of free speech in France that he should write about.. anyway.. won't talk to anyone else on this.. hopefully done.
