Re: Notice of Non-renewal
Dear Dr. Krauss:
I am writing to address the status of two appointments that you have previously held.
By letter dated November 21, 2014 (enclosed) from former Provost, Robert Page, you were informed
that your Foundation Professorship appointment would extend through 2017.2018 and would then be
considered for renewal. That appointment term and annual stipend expired at the conclusion of
AY2018. A new appointment as Foundation Professor will not be extended to you.
Additionally, your annual administrative appointment as Director of the Origins Project will not be
renewed for the upcoming academic year. Please refrain from using that title as well as the Foundation
Professor title going forward in any of your communications, webpages or CVs in the current tense. You
may certainly reflect those titles for the time frame that they have been held (i.e., 2008.2018).
Sincerely,
rk Searle
Executive Vice President and University Provost
